Langley Art CritiqueThe Langley Art Critiques were established to provide an opportunity for artists to engage in both creative and professional development. This unique program provides a venue for amateur and emerging artists to receive professional feedback on their work! Artists can bring either works in progress or completed work, for valuable evalution from experienced arts leaders and well respected peers. Participants can expect to receive assessment, analysis and direction from professional, well known artists who teach workshops through the Federation of Canadian Artists, as well as other well-respected national arts organizations. The environment of the workshops is warm and welcoming which fosters an atmosphere of trust for all participants. Improvements to work are achieved through positive reinforcement and constructive suggestions. Moreover, the program focuses on providing resources and information that will assist artists in improving their technical skills. Professional feedback, artistic resources, and peer networking are all necessary components of artist betterment and development, which foster the creation of new works and ideas. Come participate in this fun and informative support system for working artists!

In addition to artists who are looking to improve their skills, attendees also include individuals with a general interest in the arts. Art appreciators are definitely welcome. Come out to view some beautiful work and meet some of your local artists! Work to date has included everything from drawings to sculptures. Given all the possible variations of styles, subject matter, mediums and interests, each critique has proven to be informative, thought provoking and fun!

The Langley Art Critiques take place on the last Monday of every month at the City of Langley Library.

  1. The ACS has started an Associate Arts Council page in our monthly Spotlight magazine. We have included Langley Arts Council already and would like to continue doing so. I have copied the information regarding your critiques but the pic on the web is not print quality. Is there a possibility of getting a high resolution copy of this or a different image depicting the event at the library. I would like to put this information into our October issue. Please send me the high res pic (300 dpi minimum) by September 1st if possible.

    thank you in advance,
    Leah
